I think this is a reference to 'packing', nowadays achieved with molded silicone.

http://www.fleshlight.com/male-toys/mr-limpy/

It's a fake penis and testicles that are flaccid. Used by drag kings to produce a bulge in their pants.

8th picture, second from left: Is that Stephen Fry?

Also, how is this inappropriate for minors?

No. :-)

Also, how is this inappropriate for minors?

I think that warning is applied to all photos in this community.

Fantastic collection, many of these images are new to me. I remember a story of my great-grandmother who, for a few times, borrowed her brother's clothes to walk around town just because she enjoyed the freedom and how differently people would regard her (she had the swagger down well, apparently!) She was immensely proud of herself for doing so, and i cannot help but see a similar adventurous twinkle in some of these women's eyes.

I would suggest This Book for those that would like to see more of the anti-corset revolution of women in all walks of life.

I seem to remember something about Hurst preferring Marion Davies in men's clothes/hats because she looked saucy in them.

looks to me as if most of these were for funsies, dressing up in a costume, rather than as a lifestyle choice. my great grandmother and her sister often had themed costume parties. it was something that girls did in those days.
