Very cool! Nice find. I wonder if they took the picture of the women in the green house because they noticed the light was good for photos when they took the picture of will(?) and the older man?

Just noting that the women seemed much more 'posed'

I think the woman on the right might be wearing the white apron of a maid or housekeeper.

The white cliffs would have to be Dover, wouldn't they?

These are wonderful-- thank you!

No, there are white chalk cliffs along the whole south east coast, and on the Isle of Wight.

I've just managed to identify that church. It's in Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Devon.

Thank you. Especially for the old conservatory (never saw earlier, unfortunately).

I hope you don't mind--I wanted to get a better look at some of these, so I enhanced them a little further in photoshop. The results are a tad sloppy since I didn't have the full-sized images to work on. Oh well! Thanks for sharing this wonderful set of photos; it makes me wonder if there are any records anywhere of Will and the others. It would be really interesting to find out more about them. :)

You've done a better job than I did. What did you adjust? Some of the originals are barely visible and the prints are tiny ones. I can email you the 600dpi original scans if you like.

I added adjustment layers for levels, curves, brightness/contrast, and color balance, as well as filters for noise reduction and de-speckling on a few, plus a bit of clone stamping to get rid of the worst of the scratches and tears in the photos. If you'd like me to work on the original scans, I'd be happy to do it though they might take a little longer. ;) You can email 'em to me at zhukora at gmail. Let me know if there are any you want me to clean up first since I may not get to all of them.

From your enhancements I'm willing to bet the two women in the photo were at least sisters if not twins.
