He does look like a child who has hidden thoughts, and there is something a bit strange in his expression. I was just looking at the picture again, and, to me, his face is almost changeling-like ... as if he is just waiting for his human parents to turn away so that he can scamper off, back to Faerie. It reminded me of one of my favorite recent books, "The Stolen Child" by Keith Donohue (not sure what the Russian title is) ... a really wonderful story, that I highly recommend!
