School cones! German tradition... sort of like an Easter basket or a Christmas stocking filled with goodies and given as a gift on the first day of school.

i think it's customary, in some parts of europe, to bring flowers to your teacher on the first day of school.

also, that little girl in the last picture is the cutest thing ever.

Awww, Schultueten. I had one on my first day of school, it's a German tradition. They contain things like pens, pencils, candy... It's not about flowers or anything like that.
