Some of these are so like photographs that I have of my grandfather and his family at St Moritz in the 1920's; in knickerbockers and tweeds, seeming so quaint, and yet how much more appealing than the lurid artificial fabrics now in fashion. Getting increasingly chilly, though, as the snow sinks through. And ladies on the slopes in skirts. The atmosphere somehow less serious, all very amateur and just a lark.
