I really enjoyed your interpretation of the prompt! Lily and James are such a sweet couple. My critique is that the last sentence falls a little too harshly and it's quite jarring; I think the drabble would've been better off without it. Since the readers already know there will never be a next year, I think it has a much deeper emotional impact if you just left off with the line about James wistfully thinking to their next anniversary and planning on how he'd outdo it, since we already know it's never going to come. I really wish there was a longer version of this!
