150 Recipes for Your Electric Refrigerator

There's no date on this cute little booklet, but it must be from when an electric refrigerator was still somewhat new--1920s-1930s, I'm guessing. I love the old GLadstone 4590 phone number. There is no Macaroon Ice Cream recipe, oddly enough! But Mexican Ice Cream mentions macaroons, so I've scanned in that page for you. It sounds really good, as does Fig Ice Cream!

YUMMM thank you so much, it sounds sooo delicious. I wish macaroons were available year round. I went to a Price Chopper within a week after Passover ended and can you believe NO ONE I asked even KNEW what a macaroon was? I was flabbergasted, to say the least.

Now you can have them year round! (I just posted a whole bunch of macaroon recipes in a new post). It is weird that no-one had even heard of a macaroon. Hmmm.

I find it interesting that Cucumber Ice calls for a "bowl of mayonnaise". No measurements specified. I wonder if it were just an average recipe's worth of mayonnaise?

When I think of Mexico, I must admit I don't think of walnuts.

Fig ice cream sounds really good, while on the other end of the spectrum, nothing will ever make the word "prune" sound appetizing.

i do! ever had a "mexican wedding cake"? toasted walnuts and powdered sugar. (there are similar recipes from other places as well, i.e. russian teacakes)
