i don't think rationing had started in 1941...can you imagine Americans rationing in this day and age? i cannot...

it's not the same thing as rationing but covid created some shortages

and we saw totally irrational karenesque behavior from many (not all) over even that! and the continuing issues with supply chains and some things...
