I remember these ads and I didn't understand the point of them then or now. We're supposed to drink this beer because some dog likes it? I like dogs but they drink out of the toilet, I don't want them recommending my beer!

It was kind of nonsensical, wasn't it? I can't imagine the ad agency's original pitch for it...
