Today's the 67th anniversary of the Korean War cease-fire.

I'm featuring a non-Korean War film, War Of The Worlds, from 1953. It is a film about war and invasion, and an enemy from 'the Red Planet'. It also features not only the U.S. Army but other armies of the world (much like Korea). This is one creepy alien invasion movie, and the early scenes

It's a good tribute and especially a fine film - one of my faves from the 50s. All the different takes on how to defend ourselves from a previously unknown enemy ring true - pacifistic, regular weapons, escalating, escalating ... :/

It does speak to RL concerns, doesn't it? We all know these '50s monster/alien invasion flicks were allegories for the Cold War against the Russians (spoken boldly in a scene in The Day The Earth Stood Still), but it was a good, chilling story on its own. :)
