RIP Toys R Us? I remember my city didnt even get a toys r us until about 1989-1990, and even then it was in a neighborhood my family never went to, so I was kinda bummed/resentful over it as a kid...

The first Toys R Us I remember going to was when we lived in Maryland in the 70s. It was a bit of a walk/bike ride to get to it, but some of us'd go now and then to ogle the cool toys. Decades later I a little news blurb about that one closing and I learned it was one of the first ones that ever opened.

Their offices used to be in Mack Centre IV in Paramus, New Jersey. I knew this because that's where our office was as well. In Chicago, we had "Children's Bargain Town, USA" that I think was a precursor to "Toys R Us" (or it might have been bought by them, not sure).
