I like all these - except for Fetal Girl. I keep wanting to hug her, or call the paramedics or something ... :/ she looks so lost ... * probably reading more into it than necessary *
It's fascinating how a tan pre-WWII was considered the working-class laborer look (outdoors in construction and whatnot) and after the war, tans became a sign of leisure for the middle and upper classes. Women who used to go around with parasols back in the day to keep the sun from their skin now baked in that sun on the beach or on their backyard patios.
Now, of course, anyone tanned is looked at side-eyed as people think, "Don't you know you're courting skin cancer?"
