RIP Adam West :(

beyond upset at this. a true american hero, and one I was fortunate enough to meet and embarrass myself in front of. He looked straight at me and said, in that deadpan Adam West way, "you poor.... deluded FOOL!" it was the highlight of my life.

Oh no. That's sad. He, like Shatner, gets my vote for the list of Actors Who Enjoyed Their Careers The Most Award. And like Shatner, he went through early fame, years of D list obscurity, and then recovery with all the voice acting and well, just being himself. I saw him at a few old movie conventions in the 90s and he held onto his looks pretty well. He was nice to my Youngest and gave him a painting showing the Bat Signal that he did. It hangs on the wall still.

Oh, I'm sorry. What were the circumstances of your meeting?

its nothing to be sorry about. it was about 15 years ago, at my 2nd comicon, and I was geeking out like an idiot teenager who never met an idol before. But he meant it affectionately and took it all in good stride, as it was one of the catchphrases from the old show. although older and wiser and in retrospect, it was towards the end of the day so I could understand if he was a bit tired.

His career might have been stunted by his success as Batman, but he was a good sport about it and I'm sure he was as successful as the guy who played Batman on TV as he could have been. I can't get over the feeling that the world is a little less safe now that Batman is dead. Rest in peace, Caped Crusader.
