My husband and I are reminiscing how when we were children, when it was TV Dinner night, it was exciting! I actually haven't eaten a TV Dinner in years- maybe I should try one sometime. We loved them as children.

We only got TV dinners a few times a year and it was such a treat. but my Grandma (who was the family cook) would save the foil trays and try to serve us regular household leftovers in them, claiming they were "TV dinners." No fair! :-)

As the child of a workaholic dad and a terminally ill mother, let me tell you, I am very, very familiar with Swanson TV Dinners. I can conjure up the flavour of their Salisbury steak immediately, oddly spongy consistency and all.
