I think I have seen a parody of this ad a while ago. It's interesting how she kind of holds the box of margarine up like the Land O Lakes butter mascot.

Oh wow what a flash back! I remember these commercials as a kid. Do you they even make this product anymore?

Yes, I remember these commericals vividly, too. I like how they try to convince the viewer that hydrogenated oils are “natural” because they began life as corn.

coming to the party late but...

"corn" in europe was the general term for grain. wheat, rye, whatever, it was "corn". then they found the new world, and this yellow or white stuff growing in ears and well, it's grain, so it's corn!

"maize". "corn, whatever."

there ya go. ;)
