I've taken many long haul trips on these. I was sad to see Delta take the last of them out of service as each aircraft came up for heavy maintenance in the mid '90s.

Oh that was just the cabin configuration for Eastern. Delta had them setup as four or five seats across the center section in the coach cabin.

I loved L-!011's! So sleek and stylish. And a raised tail engine is just *special*. So hard to find nowadays, except on cargo DC-10s, and some old 727/DC9 models.

My mom's friend, who took me on my first few flights in the the 80s / early 90s, was all about the L-1011. I can't remember if I've ever been on one... in that timeframe, I only did 2-3 hour flights on Delta and one long-distance flight on Alitalia.
