Oh my. Doubtful anyone walked down the street dressed like this even in the 80s.

Needs more sweaters too. They always look so cozy but were probably terrible.

I also remember when Benneton had a store on every corner in NYC, about 1985. By 1990 they were gone.

I lived in Texas in the 1980s so multiple heavy sweaters were hugely impractical most of the time, but I knew some people who tried to pull off that look.

Benetton is still around, and there are still some stores, but I doubt they have the brand recognition they used to. Probably partly because their ad campaign got so weird for awhile there that people didn't even want to be associated with them.

I was wondering how relevant they were too.

Yeah, actually there are still a few stores located where they were, although they've mostly vanished. In 1985, I was actually really into Benetton because when I had first discovered them, they were much preppier than they became.

Still have a few Benetton sweaters, and-I hope-my Benetton rugby.

The girl looks like she barely won a fight to the death with a tiger.

That company always had the most creative ads. Didn't know they sold clothes until 3 years ago.

For awhile it was hard to tell what they were selling! Some of their ads have been interesting to say the least.
