I vaguely remember a fashion doll named Sindy when I was a child. For some reason, the doll's hair changing color sticks out in my mind? Like it had some kind of special brush and you changed the dolls hair color with it? Maybe I'm not remembering the right one lol.

Japan seemingly has the market cornered on weirdness, so I wouldn't doubt someone thought salad would be a good way to sell waffle cones. The fruit salad one makes sense to me, though.

I vaguely recall a Sindy doll in the US, based upon the actress who played Cindy Brady on the Brady bunch. I want to say it was back in the 80s.
