all i can do is sit here and blink. this is maybe the craziest thing i've ever seen done with food and why would you add mayonnaise and why is any of this i don't understand

Why add mayo? Duh! You add mayo to savory stuff in aspic, you add whipped cream or cottage cheese to sweet stuff in aspic. What else!

I an a mid-50's baby and I ate a LOT of stuff in aspic when I was young, but I don't think I ever ate anything quite this .... Odd. Mom mostly stuck to sweet stuff.

Yeah, the craziest my mom got was lime Jello with celery and carrots in it (with mayo). Though I'm a mid-70s baby so maybe I missed the worst of it.
