Looks like sweet potatoes. Swap out the peas for some collards and you would have an awesome Southern meal there. This is one of the few times I have actually seen the entire ad, not just the image, so I'm voting yes now that I know what it's for.
Also, if you consider the perspective and that the girl's eyes are looking slightly to her right, she could hardly be able to see what's on that plate, which means she has that look all the time!
Yes. I remember wearing a jacket and tie the first time I flew anywhere (1967) and dressing to go to dinner. And every time we went to the ballgame (which was always at Wrigley Field, because they didn't think there were any White Sox fans... HA!) with the altar boys, mostly because we were coming from school.
