Has anyone encountered anything like this??? LJ apparently cracking down gay content??? Just saw this link (to another LJ where they relay what has happened to them) in the FB group 'I have a LJ'. It doesn't surprise me, sadly; but is this really true??? Any ideas if it is? Feedback?? Makes me wanna flood my LJ with lots of 'gay' content!!! Don't

SUP has been cracking down on slash particularly for quite a while now. Not usually because of the gay but because of pedo issues. That being said I know nothing about this particular case.

I just want to point out that it would be incredibly hypocritical of LJ to start banning anybody or anything based on gay content when they sell an animated Gay Pride Flag in the virtual gifts!!!

Back when I did a lot of explicit homoerotic artwork and posted it to LJ, I never once got a notice from them -but it did get taken down without notice from Photobucket, along with LJ icons that only had text on them. I lost a lot of my work.

ah, thank you for your insight.....yeah, i mean, i know it would be hypocritical...i just posted this because i saw it in that FB group and i wondered what y'all thought/knew about it.....we also know LJ doesn't make sense at times.....and they WERE to start doing such a thing, well that would certainly be the death knell for LJ.....

Oh no. I have NO doubt that *any* company on the internet wouldn't mind taking your money and shutting you down. I've heard rumors about LJ and the slash fans for years... but that was before Putin and all of the shit he's been stirring up this year.

Yep, Photobucket!!! That's why I'm not a whiz-bang genius when it comes to using LJ's scrapbook. One of the icon PB removed for "inappropriate conduct" simply said (no pic involved) "You've been a bad boy, go to my room"

Something is suspect about this - if there was an issue, they would have blocked the account, not the IP address posting to the account.

That's what I was wondering about because in many households (or the public library!) many people share a computer.

Last week it was a group of people of FB claiming FB was going to start charging for un-public accounts. *rolls eyes*

At one time, all the internet providers in NZ blocked LJ's IP address, ie Kiwis could only post/comment/view via a proxy. But as you say, that was not LJ blocking the users' IP's, it was the other way around. I wonder if this may be the same issue -- the user's provider, rather than LJ.
