fuck that, it was 106 here in houston the other day, and we burnt up one of those little suckers at my grandmother's house one summer.

I know it's the same thing, but "proven" would look/sound better.

I always liked the design of this air conditioner. Simple, symmetric grille design, two knobs for function and temperature. Looks as good today as nearly 60 years ago.

Is "proved" correct? It sounds like baking bread. I would have used "proven" or is that the past participle of "has proven"? I'm so confused now.
