I thought 3 track was an old kind of cassette but realizing now it was a type of british record... kind of wild to me that they weren't advertising cassettes in the UK in 1986. I was quite young but feel like they were extremely common in america by then
Cassettes were on the wane in the mid 80's; CD's were becoming the thing.
A 3-Track 12 Inch was a vinyl record, physically the same size as a regular LP, but with fewer tracks (songs) on it. The individual tracks took up more space on a 12" because of a different recording technique allowing for better sound.
