I can totally believe that. I wasn't really involving myself in what I saw--it was just a stream of information whirring past my eyes, so my recollection of precisely what group or what year is pretty unreliable.

I discovered usenet in 1991 and Averti was one of my first downloads. I printed "Return of Cesura" to my dot-matrix printer (after pulling it over the 300 baud modem) and thought he was the bees knees. Never knew much else, but certainly he was better than many out there at that time.
