in which the dark knight should be the LAST batman movie

So, I was watching The Dark Knight tonight…I came in at the part where Rachel and Harvey were talking to each other while being held captive at those different spots as bait (which is, ironically, the part where we stopped when we watched it in my Digital Media class.) Yeah…me and my dad were talking about the movie last night. To us, it seemed like they had multiple endings/story arcs that they had to go with, and they just decided to go with all of them. For example, Bruce having to choose between Rachel and Harvey, ending with Rachel's death, always seems like the natural ending place. But then, you remember the entire story arc that's left where the Joker blows up that hospital, and then later when he makes the two ferries choose between killing each other?

The Dark Knight itself might not be the tightest of movie scripts (I mean, just look at its length). But to end the series with this movie would have been a great finale - it might have even justified a longer movie had the audience known it was going to be the last movie.
