Protected cycle + ped tracks are absolutely essential. and of course, it increases footfall - and more people = more business.

Sometimes I wonder if in Bangalore, a smaller continuous underground 'magic-box' for bikes might make sense.. for safe mobility..

Hey Mike, long time :-)

your point about the magic box is valid..it does help pedestrians but does'nt help cyclists at all. Our planners always give preference to motorised transport, and don't realise roads for pedestrians , cyclists and motor vehicles.

We (at HasiruUsiru and some other NGOs) are pushing for cycling tracks and other facilities for pedestrians and cycles..
