When did you start writing fiction, Vil? And did you always write in English?

I started writing in 2003. The first story I wrote was in German; it was a kind of satire in form of a diary written by Aragorn. He had to lie abed due to an injury and commented on the going-ons of the Last Homely House. Twins playing pranks, a certain elf from Mirkwood and a few other guests. It's all there. *almost dies from embarrassment*

You’re still quite young, and have a lot of choices ahead of you, so what would be your ideal career? What would you really like to do?

Oh, there are so many choices. But what I'd really like to do is work in the field of neurolinguistics - escpeially looking at how language works in the brain and see how certain injuries change your talking abilities. And how are the words stored anyway, how do I reach for them? Yep, I want to be a linguist.

That's a good question. I think I'd like to fall in love and marry. It's plain and simple, but I don't need to do anything great like travel around the world or win the literature Nobel prize. ;)

What is your favorite animal and why; and do you now or have you owned one?

I know that it's somewhat clichéd, but my favourite animal is the horse. Why? Well, everyone who has ever ridden through unspoilt nature will know the wonderful sense of freedom this gives you and galloping at full speed is the most wonderful feeling I've ever experienced.
I've never owned one, but there was an icelandic mare named Gjöf that I could ride whenever I wanted. She was just perfect and we understood each other beautifully. Sadly the owner sold her about a year ago and I haven't seen her since.
