I was really disappointed by the Lupin/Tonks deaths. She didn't write them - their bodies were simply lying their next to Fred, several pages after she mentioned that they were out duelling. circe_tigana is going to be livid - he is her favorite.
It's funny, but the death that upset me the most was Hedwig's. It came so suddenly, and somehow seemed the most cruel.
What I want to know is who JK considers to be the "two" major characters who died. It was a bloodbath - and I assumed that Moody was #1, until the carnage really began.
On the whole, I thought it was really well done, and it made up for what I thought was a dreary book #6. The epilogue was sneaky - it leaves the door open for Albus Potter and the whatever of whatever, but probably puts Harry to rest as the central figure - at least until he's well into his thirties.
What? He wasn't living with them already? Who the hell raised him then?
But maybe she wanted Harry to have time to enjoy early adulthood, instead of saddling him with more responsibilty... But I would have liked that spelled out, along with Luna's fate. I'll just picture her settling down with Neville.
Although my favorite fanfic ever had Neville and Malfoy shacking up. :)
I was presuming Umbridge spent the rest of her life in Azkhaban myself. All that trying and torturing of Muggle-born wizards bound to be Nuremberg like trials to sort out who was imperiused and who wasn't.

They totally never said who raised Teddy, which annoys me for some reason.
