A lawyer walks into the bar . . .

A ballerina walks into a barre . . .

A trapeze artist . . .

A Martian warrior from Barsoom . . .

A dog walks into a bark . . .

Bartholomew (from Dr. Seuss) . . .

The vicar of Barchester . . .

Bartleby the Scrivener . . .

(time for me to go to bed!!)

Ha! Ziva David walks into a bar mitzvah.
Jack Aubrey sails into a sandbar.
The Barmy Army lurch into a bar...

[thinks about SG1 and SGA] I could do Rodney McKay. He's always fun.

Jack Aubrey sails into a sandbar.

Whoops! And whoops of laughter!

And there are, as mentioned, chocolate bars. Mmm.

It's very hard to decide, isn't it? I changed my mind about ten times.

Violet Crawley could walk into a bar tea shop? ;-)

Not that there's anything wrong with Vila walking into a bar. (Vila! ♥) Well, unless he's supposed to be somewhere else, of course, which he probably is...

I do adore Violet! [thinks about it] Did you read the Downton Abbey/Sherlock/DW crossover I once perpetrated?

I really do need a Violet icon.

I'm glad there are still people who'd read a Vila story though.

I did read your crossover - I think I was cheering you along somewhere early in the process, too. :-)

I had a Violet icon, once. I should get my Downton one back, really. And of course there are always people who'll read Vila-fic!

I have not stopped loving Vila! And now that I've finally seen Downton Abbey -- where do I find this crossover of yours? Must read!

There are coffee bars and milk bars (and Milky Bars) for the non-drinker.

Exactly, and hamburger bars. I plan to use the sort of bar that will match my character though, as suggested below, it might be funnier not to.

The fictional (and perhaps comedic) potential is even greater if circumstances impel someone into an establishment ze does not normally frequent--so Violet in a workingman's pub could be comedy GOLD. (Or tragedy gold.)

Personally, I was going to sign up with my darlingest Simon, but a simple shift to my other darling Nolan Ross gave me lots of ideas when I felt that I would run (heh) into a brick wall. Which is not a statement that there are not many more stories about Vila to be told and many happy readers for them.

An excellent point! (And I really must acquire a Violet icon.)

I had to look up Nolan Ross. I'm not sure that I'm ready for another fandom at this point but that does sound interesting.

It's hard to connect anything that happens on Revenge with anything that might, under any circumstances, actually happen, but I think it's high-grade silly nonsense and continue to be astonished that it isn't a big fandom. I'm really enjoying S2, but the conventional wisdom is that quality fell off after S1.

Death walks into a bar,,,, (Terry Pratchett's)

Vimes would walk into a bar too, but he'd cause less of a stir.

They both rock and I love them both, but I'm uncertain of my ability to write them well. I have read some brilliant Death fanfic.
