I suppose I should post at some point, and this is it. So here's an assortment of things.

BirthdayMy sister Jenni came up from Hamilton for the day (also to look at some French doors she saw on TradeMe) and we had lunch with Greg at the local Mexican (as in run by Mexicans) cafe where I was greeted with a hug as we haven't been there for a while. ( Read more... )

Happy birthday to Ashley! (Since I already wished one to you. :)) I'm so glad to hear the cats are playing and getting along. With luck, maybe Sebastian will be less discouraged by the incredible difficulty of the cat door when he's a little older and bigger. Here's hoping. :)

It might be easier to get Ashley to "teach" Sebastian by encourage them to play "chase me" through the cat door. From observation a cat in mid flight has no brakes and Sebastian will be through the door before he can stop. :¬D

We tried him with food and treats and the laser light but he doesn't push hard enough and doesn't like when we push his paws against the door to open it. We're trying lengthening the string holding it open so he'll have an ever-smaller gap to go through.

Happy birthday to Ashley! :o) There are many times (usually when I'm cleaning the litter box) that I wish we had access to an enclosed garden or something where the kits could go play and do their business.

There's no such thing as enclosed for a cat though unless it's basically a cage (like a cattery run) or has an unclimbable wall. I know ours go to other gardens, though I think Sebastian is staying in our property though he's been over or though both fences to the carport and drive.

Yes, I know - I just meant it would be nice if the kits could go outdoors, something they can't do where we live. :o)

I agree. They love the outside and we have a big garden with lots of places for them to explore and hide in; they're often hard to find.

Today however Sebastian refused to go out in the rain and used the litter. Sigh.
