The motorway viaduct over Newmarket is being replaced while still in use, and on Sunday they had an open day. How many heavy engineers do you know? :-) Very cool. I did Engineering Intermediate at uni and often regret I continued in physics rather than engineering. I could have worked on that viaduct. I could've been a contender.

That's a great idea - having an open day to get people feeling involved with the bridge, and letting people sign it. An unusual day out, but looks like a good one.

I've been interested in it for months, watching the Big Blue Thing move along as the new lanes grow. I really enjoyed the stop-motion slide show of the progress they showed.
