Oh, lovely! I love Vila here, trying to make peace with his memories, strike safely where he can, trying to hide from himself his loneliness even as he grows fonder of the rat in the box.
And Avon, sardonic and as close to admitting friendship as he's capable, seeking Vila and Orac and giving Vila a reason to trust him a bit again.
And Orac, growing fond of Vila!

I usually regard the little plastic rat as a liability, but then no one but Vila bothered to get to know him (even if it was with jokes).

I like how Avon was willing to go and find an ill Vila, though Avon would have denied he cared, of course. :-p
