Merry Kitschmas!

I went over to Pakuranga (another Auckland suburb) today to collect a painting a relative did for me a few weeks ago. One of the neighbours in her street has ... an inflated Santa, trembling in the wind. I was delighted that I had my camera.

It's a very nice painting, yes!:) And arrrgh, I hate Xmas kitsch with a passion. It's such a stupid Yank thing that's taking over the rest of the world whenever there are people who want to show off in a tacky way:P...

BTW, would you be ok with pics of Vila with his bum showing? I could look for some nice piccies:)... Of course, I aim to please all the Vila-lovers out there with my Photoshoppage:)...

I rather like that one you did of him ages ago lying on a couch and looking over his shoulder. Oh and there was one of him asleep. And of course I love the jester one. :-D

Hm, off to trawl for nekkid piccies of cute young men, can't say it's an ardurous task...;)

That is a nice picture and my tastes aren't usually so modern. I just love the colours in it.

Oh, that *is* a lovely painting! And especially nice that it's a place that you know and have happy memories of.

That house is quite amazing, isn't it? Even the two just round the corner from me aren't as insane as that.

I was actually meant to send her one of my photos, but none of them were suitable, so she found something on the web to work from. It's a similar style to Don Binney's work, but without the birds.

The old couple I imagine live there must plan all year. The house is on a main road near a big mall so it gets lot of attention which probably makes their whole year. :-)

That's an attractive painting, very restful.

Oh, every year Mom and I drive out on Christmas Day to look at decorations around town. Some folks go absolutely batty with it! But it's fun to see what people do.

Happy Christmas to you and Greg and the four-legged ones!

I am thrilled with the painting! I can't hang it yet because it will take days to be really dry.

It's never been a tradition here to decorate the outside of your house, but it's becoming more so due to films and TV. There's one street where all the residents get together and do lights which is extremely beautiful. I must try to drive down it soon, but of course I'll have to wait till after 9pm for it to be dark.

And a wonderful Christmas and New Year to you all all your furry room-mates!
