Chapter 19: Namida
Noriko let her tears fall as she looked up at Jun, “I don’t want to go through this pain again.”
Jun looked shocked before looking over at Sho, “What do you mean…again Noriko?”
“I…” she looked at Jun before looking at the ground, “I was in love before…with a guy named Koji…He was my everything...but it all shattered when I saw him kissing another girl and bringing her into his apartment.”
She hugged herself before continuing, “It hurt so much to see him with someone else, smiling at someone else…It killed me and I never wanted to feel that pain again.”
Jun looked at the ground, “Gomenasi Riko-chan…I didn’t know.”
“Of course you didn’t, I never wanted anyone to know…” Noriko paused when she felt someone put their arms around her from behind.
“Iko-chan, I never cheated on you.” Sho said, “Hanako is my sister. I’ve known her for so long, that all I feel for her is the love of a sibling, when I was with her all we did was talk about you…Think Iko-chan the day you walked out I was smiling, why would I smile if I was going to break your heart?”
Noriko was frozen, He was hugging her from behind. ‘I missed his arms around me…I missed him so much.’ She leaning back into his warmth.
“You hurt me.” She said softly, “I love you so much and you hurt me.”
“Gomen, Gomen, Gomen…I’ll say it until...until I'm unable to speak again.” He said holding her tighter. Noriko pulled out of his arms.
Sho’s shoulder slumped in defect when he felt her pull away from his embrace. He looked at her and then nodded.
Noriko turned around and flew into his arms, “I’m so angry at you…I hate that you didn’t tell me about Hanako, I hate that even when I was away from you I couldn’t stop thinking about you…I hate the fact that every time you hold me…I become weak…I hate that the love I have will never go away…I hate that you hurt me so much…” she paused and looking up into his eyes.
“But I love you Sho Sakurai…I love you so much and I hate the fact that I doubted your loyalty to me.” She finished and then buried her face into his chest.
“Iko…” he said leaning down so he face was in her neck, “never doubt the love I feel for you in my heart…when I was away from you…I felt as if I couldn’t breath…never cut me out again…I always want to be near you.”
Noriko pulled away from Sho and looked into his eyes, “…Aish-“ she was cut off by Sho kissing her on the lips. Noriko put her arms around his neck and kissed him back with tears slowly falling from her eyes.
The couple didn’t notice Jun watching them, he saw them kiss and looked away he stepped away from the two and walked out of the door to Noriko’s apartment. When the door closed behind him he placed his left palm on the door and his right hand on his heart.
Bending his head Jun let a few tears fall from his eyes as he replayed the scene of Noriko kissing Sho so fully, so completely, it made his heart break all over again. He cried silently, shaking his head.
‘She was never mine…’ he thought making a fist at the door and pulling at his shirt before pushing away from the door and leaving her place.
‘never mine…’ He thought once more wiping away his tears.
~ Next Weekend~
Noriko was nervous, she was going to meet Hanako for the first time. Sho sat next to her smiling and grabbing her hands while she tried to pull away.
“Calm down Iko-chan, Hanako will love you.” He said grinning, “Just as much as I do.”
“Demo…I accused her of…well…yea.” She said stuttering, “I feel so awful…”
Sho chuckled lightly, “You don’t need to be, this would not have happened if I had told you right out about Hanako and how we weren’t speaking…when I saw her, I felt bad and we started to talk again.”
“And He couldn’t stop talking about you.” A light female voice said happily.
Noriko looked up and her jaw dropped, ‘She’s beautiful.’ She thought staring at Hanako for the first time. Sho looked at Noriko in surprise before grinning and waving his hand in her face.
Noriko stopped staring and blushed before bowing low, “Ah, gomen…it’s just you are very very Utsukushii.” Noriko said softly, smiling.
Hanako looked surprised before she broke out into a smile, “Eh…Domo Arigato.” She said laughing slightly, “You must be Noriko.”
Noriko was in a daze as she saw Hanako smile, she looked at Sho and then Hanako and she bowed once more, “ano…gomen Hanako-san, demo…can I talk to Sho a moment?” Hanako nodded and Noriko pulled Sho away.
“ano…don’t take this the wrong way Sho-kun, demo…you baka!” she said hitting him upside the head hard.
“Itai! What was that for?!” he yelled rubbing his head,and scrunching up his face.
“Do you see her?! She’s so Utsukushii, and you’re with me?! Are you blind?” Noriko said putting her hands on her hips.
Sho stared at Noriko before pulling her into a kiss, and holding her tightly. When they pulled away they both where smiling brightly at each other.
“You are Utsukushii Iko, demo…I love your personality more than your looks.” He said lightly brushing her cheek. Noriko blushed and nodded before pulling him back over to Hanako.
“Gomen Hanako that was rude of me.” Noriko said bowing low again, and blushing still.
“Daijoubu.” Hanako said smiling, “Now, I see why Sho bro has been so happy lately.”
Noriko smiled, “I…just want Sho’s happiness…No matter what.” She then looked at Hanako and back at Sho, “No matter what.” She repeated.
Hanako smiled brightly, “Hai, I want the same.” The two women then started to talk letting the things of the past be settled.
Sho watched the two women in his life talk and smiled inside, he was happy that things where working smoothly again.
~The Next Day Mizumi’s house~
Noriko sat on the couch with Yori and Mizumi grinning to herself as the two talked about their guys.
“Aiba-chan seems way happier now since he met Yori-chan ne?” Mizumi asked ginning.
“Must you always pick on me Mizu-chan…” Yori asked pouting then pulling Mizumi’s cheek.
“Itai…let go….” Mizumi said softly, hitting Yori's hand.
“If you agree that you and Oh-chan are the cutest little couple.” Yori said smirking,pinching her harder
“Iie…I wont.” Mizumi said closing her eyes.
Yori smiled, “Fine.” She let go of Mizumi’s cheek and got off the couch, and then walked towards the kitchen.
Mizumi was pouting and rubbing her cheek. “Yori-chan is violent.”
Noriko just smiled and waited, then she counted on her fingers whispering softly to herself, “Three…Two…One…” when Noriko got to one Yori flew at Mizumi sitting on her.
“ITAI! GET OFF ME!” Mizumi yelled in surprise.
“Iie, not unless you say you and oh-chan are they cutest couple.” She said grinning and laughing, Noriko watched the two, and couldn't help laughing hard at them. She then heard a light knock at the door and went to answer it.
She wasn’t surprised when she saw the guys along with Hanako. The group walked into the sitting room and they all held in their laughs, but Noriko was the the only one who was laughing freely.
Yori saw the group and grinned, “Say it or I will sit like this for the rest of the time I'm am here.”
“Okay, fine! Oh-chan and I are the cutest couple!” Mizumi yelled, “Now get up.”
Yori smiled and quickly got off of Mizumi, “See that wasn’t so hard was it.”
Mizumi glared at Yori before turning to look at Noriko, “I…” she blushed when she saw the guys and Hanako standing with Noriko.
“Hey Mizu-chan.” Aiba said smiling and walking over to Yori to stand next to her, Aiba then grinned and pulled Yori into a hug.
“Ano…” Mizumi said softly blushing as seconds past, “How much did you all hear?”
“You think Oh-chan and you are a cute couple.” Nino said walking towards her, “I don’t think so, Sammi and I are a way cuter couple.”
He then nodded plopped down on the nearest chair, Jun sighed and smiled, “You’re so jealous Nino-chan.”
Nino pouted and looked away from everyone.
Ohno walked over to Mizumi and kissed her lightly on the forehead before whispering, “I think you are the one that makes us a cute couple, I love your blush.” He said then sat down silently, and she blushed more.
“Leave Mizu sis alone.” Hanako said grinning, “I think you guys are cute too.”
Everyone laughed a bit and soon they started to relax and play games and just have fun being together. Jun would look over at Noriko and Sho and quickly try to pretend everything was like it was before, but every time he saw her smile and hit Sho. He felt a pain in his chest.
He wondered why it was so hard to pretend them being together didn’t bother him, he remembered when he first met her…how after that moment in the kitchen, it was easy to be detached and pretend she wasn’t intrested in Sho. He looked at his hands and stood up quickly walking towards the bathroom.
“Jun…” Noriko called when she saw him stand up quickly, “What-”
“Oh, I’m just going to the washroom.” He said smiling, “I’ll be back in a moment.”
Noriko nodded before smiling and she felt Sho poke her in the side to which she laughed and hit him lightly on the arm.
Jun watched the two and walked away from his friends, he walked into Mizumi’s bathroom and splashed cold water on his face before walking into her bedroom. He heard the others laughing at something, but he couldn’t bring himself to care…He’d never felt like this before, this burning in his throat…this aching in his heart…He never knew he’d feel this way about someone...someone he could never have.
Jun put his head in his hands and just sighed, trying not to let his emotions take control again. That’s not who he was, but at the moment he didn’t know what to feel or how to act.
‘All because of Noriko…’ he thought sadly, sighing again. He didn’t hear anyone walk into the room, but he felt someone touch his shoulder. Looking up from his hands he let his vulnerability be known just by looking at his face.
“Junnie, what’s wrong.” Hanako asked sitting next to him.
Jun looked at her briefly, “You know what’s wrong Hana.” He said softly, “I think only you could possibly understand the way I feel at this moment.”
Hanako sighed, “He loves her Jun, and if you truly love her…it will be painful demo…letting her go would be the best thing to do.”
“I’ll never understand why you never…”
“Because I know what He feels, we aren’t met to have those type of feelings for each other and now…it does hurt a little, demo when he smiles…its worth it.” Hanako said nodded happily, “I actually think Noriko, is great for him.”
“I…I can’t be happy for them…I love her…” he admitted letting a few tears shine in his eyes, “and I don’t know how to stop loving her…it hurts so bad Hana…so bad.”
“Hai, I understand…I do…demo it takes time…to accept…” Hanako paused, “It’s a very messy situation Jun…very messy…”
Jun looked at Hanako then he moved in quickly kissing her on the lips.
Hanako’s eyes went wide in an instant and then she pushed Jun away from her forcefully, but also gently. She didn’t want to hurt him, but the shock and surprise she felt was clearly on her face.
“Why do I always walk in on moments like this?” Sho asked from the door way.
Hanako stood up from the bed quickly and looked away from Sho, she was blushing even thought she didn’t do anything wrong.
Jun’s eyes went to the bed where Hanako use to be sitting, a frown was on his face, when he heard Sho's voice.
“Gomen Hanako-chan…I didn’t…mean to do such a thing.” He said softly, not being able to bring himself to look at her.
“Isn’t that always the case…” Sho said in an airy tone, before folding his arms and leaning on the door frame with a raised eye brow.
Hanako just stood watching the ground, letting their words travel around her blank and shocked mind.
Jun got angry at Sho’s tone and glared at him, “Why do you care if I kissed Hanako?” He stood up and walked towards Sho, “You’re with Noriko right?” He yelled, “RIGHT!”
Sho’s eyes widened, “H-Hai…” he stuttered unfolding his arms.
“Then act like it! You’re with the girl I love STOP BEING SO GREEDY!” Jun yelled grabbing him by the shirt.
Sho glared at Jun and pushed him away, “I know you love her, demo I love her as well…and she loves me.”
“You’re not the only one she loves.” Jun said coldly, “If you would’ve just looked at Hanako-”
“Jun, Stop it.” Hanako said touching his shoulder,
“iie! He needs to know how much you l-” Jun never got to finish because someone slapped him hard aross his face. He fell back onto the bed and looked up at the person in front of him.
“Noriko…” Jun whispered softly.
