Chapter 25: Gomenasai
~Next Week Wednesday~
Noriko walked Junji to school, she was sighing.
“Junji…will you please talk to me?” Noriko asked nicely.
Junji looked at Noriko and glared at her but kept walking, he’d been mad at her since that day at the park.
“Junji…I keep telling you, Sho-san is not…”
“He wanted to be my Otou-san.” Junji said angrily, “I had an Otou-san, Okaa-san! Nande! Nande…won’t you give me one I like?”
Noriko looked down at her son and sighed, “It’s not…It’s not that easy.”
Junji looked away from her and they started walking again.
Noriko watched her son and sighed once more, Junji felt justified in his anger since Sho left after their talk in the park. He blamed her for making Sho leave, and he blamed her for Sho telling him to call him Sakurai-sensei.
“I’m sorry Ji-chan.” she said softly, “Can’t you at least take that to heart.”
Junji pouted and looked at her like he wanted to forgive her, “Can…Can Sakurai-sensei be my Otou-san?” he asked, “Dozo?” he asked putting his hands together, “If he was my Otou-san I’d never ask for anything on my birthday or Christmas again.”
Noriko looked at her son and bit her lip, “Gomenasai Ji-chan demo…I don’t think I can give that to you.”
Junji looked sad and they walked to his school in silence.

Sho looked out of the window of the class room and saw Noriko drop down to hug Junji. Junji looked away from her and didn’t hug her back.
He wanted to go out there and hug them both but he stayed in his place. ‘Nori-chan, do you really…feel that way.’ He thought touching the window before turning away.
Sho sighed, “I can’t…” He said, ‘I can’t stay away from her, I’ll talk to her tonight…after her class.’ He thought nodding.

Noriko sat at her desk and looked out the window, she was in between classes and she knew her college students could tell something was up. Her mind was back on the incident at the park.
She shook her head when she thought back to how it all went down. ‘I truly am a baka…’ she thought sighing.
‘I don’t even know what came over me…maybe I was jealous…demo…’ she sighed once more.
~Flashback~
“Sakurai-sensei…is my Otou-san now.” He said proudly.
Noriko looked at Sho, who twisted around and looked at her properly before standing up. She then looked down at Junji with a fake smile on her face.
“Ji-chan, can you go play with Rika-chan or swing with Koji-chan?” She asked sweetly.
Junji gave her a frown, “Demo…Okaa-san I want to play with Oto-”
“Dozo Junji.” She said quickly, “For…Okaa-san?”
Junji’s frown turned into a full blow pout. “Hai, Okaa-san.” He said sadly walking away from her. He looked at Sho and sighed once before walking back to the others.
“Nori-chan…”
“What are you doing?” She asked, “What was that?”
“Noriko.” Sho said, “Junji was just excited that’s all…don’t make it into something when it’s nothing.”
“Sho it is something.” Noriko said, “Junji wants a father…and I’m not sure what you want, Do you really want to be with Junji and I? Can you seriously see yourself with me? With us? I can’t just have flings…last night was…well we did have sex demo…”
Sho looked at her, “Noriko, I would never do anything to Junji.” He said, “I…I really do adore him.”
“You say this now but down the road…” She sigh, “I think we just need some time away…I don’t want Junji to get hurt.”
“Noriko this isn’t about Junji is it?” He asked walking towards her, “Don’t do this to me.”
“I…We can’t have someone come in and…I’m sorry Sho, demo…maybe you should just leave us alone for a while…I’m asking this of you.”
Sho looked at her with a pained expression, “If…If that’s what you want.”
“Gomenasai…demo it is.” She said strongly.
Sho sighed and walked away, and Noriko watched him go.

‘What did I do?’ she wondered as she walked to her last late night class.

Noriko was angry as she trooped to the Administrative office of Tohoku University. Fumio Saitou wanted to have a chat with her. On one of her busier days, so yes she was angry.
She walked past Shizuko’s empty desk thought she paid it no mind and walked right into Fumio’s office.
“Vice President Saitou-san, I would really like to know what you wanted to talk to me about. I need to pick up my son.” Noriko said politely but with a tone.
Fumio got up from his desk, his hair was as oily as ever, the top buttons of his shirt were undone and his tie was undone. Noriko got a bad feeling about this meeting.
“Nori-chan…I’m glad you could come here on such short notice.” He said in an oily voice, while walking around his desk, the sleazy smirk still on his face.
“Ano…wha...t did you want to talk to me about?” Noriko asked, ‘Something isn’t right here.’ She thought as he walked closer.
“You…of course…Nori-chan.” He said licking his lips and looking her up and down. Noriko’s eyes went wide at the jester.
