If your suit is properly tailored, then when you sit down the pants legs will ride up and expose your socks. This is why suits go with socks that go halfway up the calf. A properly tailored suit will never touch the ground at the heel and folds once against the top of your shoe.

I don't know that much about suits but I do know this.

I keep having this argument with the guys at work about how suits need to be tailored, and they don't believe me. They also never wear suits, go figure. ;)

In the fic there was something about how this suit was perfectly tailored so you never saw the character's socks. I was like, uh, no. This is why socks have to go with the suit.

Speaking as someone who did a (crappy) cosplay of TYL!Gokudera for a con way-back-when and, when found on 4chan, was accused of being horrible for wearing WHITE SOCKS, I can definitely say that a suit shows socks when you kneel or sit, haha. XD;; Trouser socks are your friends! Especially when they are made of soft material. =D

That makes sense! And is very interesting! I suppose that if you were someone who was wheelchair-bound you would indeed be best served to wear clothes tailored to your sitting position.

I like that every single suit that JGL wore or anyone else for that matter was tailored just for them exactly.

HOLY COW I KNOW. JGL must have worn at least $5,000 worth of bespoke suits over the course of the movie. (I hope they let him keep at least one of them.) But everyone looked great in their suits and there is totally a reason why my inception tag is [fandom]suitporn, hahaha.
