OH MY GOD. I apparently am so stressed about the prospect of working today that I'm having nightmares about work.

Okay: anyone who works in a stressful job is not unfamiliar with the realistic work dream. It's the dream where you're at work doing all the usual work things, only it's intensely real. Unlike regular REM sleep, when I have work ( Read more... )

*laughs* yeah. I'm just ... burnt out at the moment, and I don't have time to back off and take a break. I'm going on a trip this weekend that I'm not looking forward to, and it's gonna cost me 100+ dollars, so I have to make that money, plus finish making my tax money, and all my bills are due this week ...

argh I'm going to be okay. Just stressed. These things pass.

the french need to either learn how to tip or get out. 10 on 125 for good service is just insulting. I know we're weird and want you to pay us for doing our job, but come on.

5% to 10% is an average tip in Europe, because their waiters don't depend on tips nearly as much as American waiters do. A %20 tip would be extravagant.

I know. That's why they need to learn how to tip while they're visiting the United States. =____=

(I know the US is the place with the highest tip percentages, but as a server, you know what was hard to swallow? Not tipping at all in Japan. But I didn't because that's how the business/culture works there. And if I went to France I'd tip 10%, and if I went to Canada I'd tip 15%, because that's how it's done in those countries. I wasn't expecting much knowing that they were straight from France (I was frankly grateful one of them spoke English), but I reserve the right to bitch about it in my journal.)

Bitch away, then. <3 I would've been disappointed too, especially since a 20% tip on a check like that would've been a lot of money!
