[ To say that Nayan's having a very hard time processing what exactly it is he's looking at would be an understatement. Some creature tore through Morroc, left it in ruins, and all those people... Had they gotten out? Or were they crushed beneath the remains of a shattered city?

He had thought all of this was just a dream, but it seemed no matter how many times he closed his eyes, no matter how often he tried to will himself awake, the ruins were still there staring him in the face. The destruction was real, not a dream at all, and here he was, staring down at it. Worse now are the thoughts that are plaguing his mind. If such a creature had come here, would it come to the Midgard he knew, too? Would it do this to them, leaving nothing but ruin in it's wake? Would it kill everyone he knew?

Unable to bring himself to look at it any more, the dancer closes his eyes and rests a hand against the glass, though he can't seem to bring himself to turn away from it, either. ]

[Since the day before, Kanda has rested and eaten and bathed, and has put on the simple linen shirt that Allen passed to him so that he is (at least) no longer naked to the waist. His hair, still a strange pale lavender color, is even tied back. But he is still no more inclined to society or conversation for that ( ... )

[ With a little sigh, Nayan finally opens his eyes, forcing himself to stare at the ruins once again. It won't go away when he closes his eyes; he knows that now. Thus, it's best to have it permanently imprinted in his memory, to remember this should he one day be able to return home and if this happens to the Midgard he knows. They'd need someone to be cheerful then. Someone had to try to keep their spirits up. This was their job, the bards and dancers of Midgard: to lend support to those who needed it.

And then, to his surprise, he sees something out of the corner of his eye. A head of pale lavender hair? Quickly, Nayan turns to study Kanda for a moment, though it becomes obvious to him that the other man neither knows nor seems to care that there's anybody else here. Still, appearances had to be kept up, and, quickly wiping the beginnings of tears out of his eyes, he put on the best smile he could manage and gives Kanda a little wave. ]

Hey there, honey! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there.

[For a moment as the sound of the voice reaches him, Kanda closes his eyes. He'd like to blot it out, let it fade into an incoherent drone the way voices had done the day before, an aural insulation against the violence of human contact.

Unfortunately, it seems harder to do today. The distance between himself and his surroundings is not as wide, his own wish that it was notwithstanding. He still doesn't give a damn about pleasantries or politeness, though, and any fool should be able to tell that he's in no mood for conversation. Usually it would make him angry, but now his anger doesn't come, like a needle which can't quite find the vein, and he just wants the piercing jab to stop.

Maybe if he doesn't answer the man will go away.]

[ While Khepri's almost never on any other area of the ship other than the storage area, this kafra's snuck her way out onto the deck to take a very quiet look at Morroc. ]

[ Or at least quiet for a few seconds. ]

Aaah, it's still ultra depressing to look at.

[ Not at all! At least, she doesn't give her a dirty look, instead it's more of a sad smile as she gives an idle wave of her hand toward the scene below. ]

It's been over a year now. Time's not exactly been good to Morroc since then.

[Cassidy observed the piles of rubble and debris as the airship floated gently over the ruined town with a distant sense of somberness, like the kind one might feel about a death in the extended family. Morroc's destruction hadn't affected him directly, but its lingering effects had cost many lives and threatened the safety of countless others - particularly those belonging to his hometown in Hugel. He hadn't been gone long, but the Hunter was already feeling a little antsy about waltzing on an airship while Hugel kept up its guard against the increasingly aggressive dragons nearby ( ... )

[ Signius had made his way to the deck as they neared the ruins of Morroc, and now stood at the railing looking down over the destruction. His expression did not truly change, at least, not by much... his eyes narrowed ever so slightly while his right hand twitched.

So much death and destruction spread out under them. His thoughts mirrored Nayan's, though he'd never know it. A creature like Satan Morroc... could it enter his world too? If they had fallen through the portal... could it be used to go the other way?

Rune-Midgard and Arunafeltz would never survive something like this. They would never be able to work together to fend off something that could cause this much destruction.

He made sure to take it all in, every little bit he could see from his position. He wanted to burn this sight into his memory, so that he would never forget it. This is what could happen. This is real. ]
