I have to say, "Word, man".

I consider myself an... independent Christian, if you will. Meaning I believe in God but religion and the people that tend to wield it frighten me deeply. I remember how, before my more heathenistic tendencies started showing, every time one of these assholes would show up claiming that religion gave them the right/duty/whatever to give someone else the shaft- I was so embarrassed. I didn't want that kind of thing to reflect on me. Well, I'm not reflected on now...

Anyhow, I think that you, Crystal, should give Martin Harris' book 'Cows, Pigs, Wars, and Witches' a read if you haven't already. I think you'd enjoy ^_^.

I haven't read that, but the title is certainly enticing XD It'll haff to go on my Amazon wish-list along with... half the books ever written, it seems, hehe.

Word! As a person who, at the age of eleven, started questioning the faith I'd been brought up in's veracity, a lot of what you've said makes perfect sense to me.

Hahaha, I didn't read all of this, because as soon as I realized you were gonna talk about Bill O'Reily I knew where it was going. XD He's a notorious talk show host. We saw some stuff about him in my Critical Thinking class, I don't even remember what we were talking about that HE was talking about, but yeah, can't help but wanna kick his butt.

I'm not so much ranting about O'Reilly himself. More about the ideas he expresses that seem to crop up from many 'religious' people lately. But yeah, you should've warned me about this man! XP
