Arrr! It's drivin' me nuts!

Sep 23, 2007 18:40

After three weeks, my roommates were beginning to drive me nuts. So I went home this weekend. This gave me an opportunity to see 3:10 to Yuma, make peace with my cat, shop for the final pieces of my Halloween costume, and, most importantly, catch up on my comics.

My roommates Michaela and Lauren watch the reality tv show Beauty and the Geek. I ( Read more... )

My roommates Michaela and Lauren watch the reality tv show Beauty and the Geek. I hate that show because it's obvious that they go out of their to cast stupid women, but I couldn't help but overhearing some of it. At one point they were interviewing one of the "beauties", who said "I've never seen so many geeks in one place before!"

Oh please, lady. Go to a comic book convention sometime. That'll really blow your mind!

Um, I actually watched a season of this, (I had nothing better to do), and one of the beauties fell in love with a geek! It was so sweet! And one of the beauties knew how to build a doghouse!

Hmm. Maybe I'm judging them too harshly. I only saw a few scenes of this episode. I'm sure that the producers of the show edit it to make everyone look worse than they really are : )

I was thinking that this new show, Reaper, was going to premier, and a couple of my friends are excited about it and it sounded cute so I thought I'd give it a try.

I was thinking about watching that too! Then I found out that it was on at the same time as House. Maybe I can get Lindsay to TiVo it for me. I can't believe she has a TiVo here at school...

That guy with 25,000 comics...wow. One of my nightmares is becoming someone like that. I read about people who rent those storage sights for their comics and I find it a little disturbing.

Oh, and at ACME on Friday? A man came in with his son and the kid bought a few of those Cartoon Network comics that Johnny DC publishes. The dad made the kid get bags and boards for them. For stupid kids comics. I was...well, I feel sorry for that kid.

Heh, House. Apparently everyone I know who used to watch that show is now angry at it?

It's because House's entire staff (Black Doctor, Hot Doctor, and Girl Doctor) quit on the season finale last spring. However, I read in Entertainment Weekly that those characters will still be on the show: they are just working in different areas of the hospital. I don't care very much because I watch the show for Hugh Laurie anyway.

Honestly, there's vitamin C in just about everything! How do you get *scurvy*?

Maybe she only eats hardtack?

That's just so many, and he was only in college!

He was only in college?! How many years had he been buying comics?

It's okay, you know the kid will probably forget about the bags and boards anyway...

Yeah, I hope so. It's okay, kid! Just stuff 'em in boxes under your bed!

I read the Newsarama interview with Judd Winick and my heart sank, but then I thought about it and I think you're right that he is bluffing. Besides, I will never doubt your comic book instincts again after you were right about Bart.

"Batman has a boom tube?"

The horror!

Ah, geeks in their natural habitat. Their majestic yet shy beauty is best appreciated there (and at a distance).

There's still surprisingly little Ben/Dan out there (I'm not looking super-hard, though)! I...could write down the little post-movie ficlet that's bouncing around in my head....(it doesn't have anything much in it!)

"Leggo my Ego," ow. I love Booster so much in these scans...

I would be very afraid if Batman acquired a boom tube.

It's true. You don't want to spook them!

I...could write down the little post-movie ficlet that's bouncing around in my head....(it doesn't have anything much in it!)

I think you should definitely do this. Sasha said she was writing something too, I think...

"Leggo my Ego," ow.

Would you believe that that went completely over my head until you pointed it out?

I love Booster so much in these scans...

Isn't he fantastic? I didn't mention it above, but they're already setting up for the Big Blue Beetle (Possible) Resurrection Story by showing the origin of Dan Garett.

Argh, figured the blissful roomie thing couldn't last forever. From the other posts I've read, it sounds like they have some annoying quirks--namely the girl who didn't want to go shopping, then got upset by what everyone had bought!

Unfortunately, I had forgotten that Friday was Heroclix Night.
Is this something they do every Friday? I've been such a bad comic book customer lately. I haven't been in there since I went in there with you. :(

The movie theater in Chillicothe raised their ticket price to $8!
Geesh! That's why when I go, which is rare nowadays, i try to catch a matinee.

I want to football tackle someone someday! Preferably a 30-something Asian man trying to steal books from my library. (Asian because they tend to be small-boned, so I think I can take him down!)

(*gaspu!* I've forgotten to read Friendly Hostility today! *runs off to do so*)

The break did help. Still, I have a bad feeling that we're headed for an "everyone pays for their own food" scenario instead of the communal shopping.

Is this something they do every Friday?

Apparently. A few weeks ago when Mike was really sick, he dragged himself in on Friday just because there would be so many people there. I'm sorry you haven't been in lately! Maybe you can go with me some weekend?

An Asian man, or Ken Breidenbaugh.

FH was cute today! I like Cici : )
