Icons A-Plenty

Mar 23, 2007 16:50

I'm compiling one post full of icons before leaving for Massachusetts. If I wasn't busier, you'd hear me griping about packing and cell phones.
[4] Wicked icons
[8] Les Miserables icons (all featuring Lea Salonga as Fantine)
[3] Sweeney Todd revival icons

I haven't taken French for a couple of years, but shouldn't #4 be "Viens-tu, cherie," because it's a command and not a statement?

Otherwise, absolutely lovely work!! I love your text choices.

You're right, I think, but if you look at the amazon.com page selling the French Cast of Les Miserables (which is for some reason very hard to find: it seems everyone in the world prefers the English-speaking versions), you'll find that the title of the translated "Lovely Ladies" is, in French, "Tu Viens Chéri!" Which is odd, because it's indicative, and not commanding, like you pointed out. But I guess that sounds better in the context of the song? *shrug*
Thank you!
