I’ve seen a few films during the past week, but haven't really felt like writing about them until now. This is also inspired by my visiting Old Schoolfriend yesterday. We, of course, watched a couple of Bolly films (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam & Paheli). It was funny to notice that she hasn’t yet really internalized some of the visual & storytelling ( Read more... )

This is how I feel about Paheli as well: fun and well-made but the heft is missing.

Re: Veronica Mars. In case you haven't noticed the content f my lj entries later, I've fallen head over heels in love with it!

Yep, I'd noticed your VM posts, but have been avoiding some of them, because I don't want to know too many spoilers this early in the series. I think they've only shown 5-6 episodes of S1 here, so I'm avoiding anything that talks about S2.

Actually, the puppet song is probably my favourite, because it looks like everyone is having fun while doing it :)

Almost exactly what I wrote in my review of the movie on LJ! :D

And I agree, Veer-Zaara just kicked Paheli's butt. It's such a good movie, while Paheli is just alright. Paheli is very pretty though! :)

Oh yes, very pretty indeed! I loved all the colourful costumes and the warm light and the funny turbans. The place with the well was also pretty amazing.

I loved that puppet song too. I just wished they had a full sized version because I was so disappointed when it shrunk down into the corner to make room for the ending credits!

I completely agree with you. They should have at least included a full size version of it in the dvd extras!

Strangely enough, I love Paheli more than Veer-Zaara (which will be on German TV on November 11th) - I loved the colours, the music and also SRK and Rani. She looked totally stunning in the movie.

I agree with Koyla ... that and Karan Arjun are my guilty pleasures, Roshan is so good in providing them :)

Funny thing is that I've seen Koyla only without subtitles, but with that film, I don't think it's too hard to figure out what's going on. The goodies and the baddies are pretty obvious, as is the plot.

And let's face it SRK has not a lot to say, besides grunting and growling :D
