Book cover rant & Fables 10

I'm starting to get really tired of this current trend of (semi-)headless female torsos on the cover of almost every frikking book I've recently bought. I received my latest book order today (home delivery too early in the morning -meaning around 8 a.m. :P- by the same nice boy who delived my mp3 player to me yesterday - he even quipped that here's ( Read more... )

*skips Fables part because she's way behind on the monthlies, but what she's read of the arc has been awesome*

I've been annoyed by the covers thing for a while(it's really popular in icons, too.) It's supposedly "stylish" and "artistic cropping." IMO, someone did it once in something that it fit and got a lot of praise for it, and everyone ran to copy it. Really, it makes my eyes just glance over books. It and the female butt covers.

John Scalzi mentioned the same thing (headless women on book covers, that is) in his blog recently. http://scalzi.com/whatever/?p=859 I guess it's "trendy" right now. *shrugs*
