It was Chinmei who killed Mahiro's sister, not Shinrei. *points to icon* That's Shinrei. (But, seriously, if you think the similar names are bad now, just wait until a new character shows up in a volume or two when another character shows up, and then in vol 25, the TRANSLATOR keeps confusing 2 names, including having one character refer to someone else by his own name.)

I was sad to lose Taihaku so quickly, too.

I think Hawkeye did reveal her father's secrets to Mustang, and that she joined the military to make sure he didn't misuse the knowledge, It's always seemed pretty clear to me that he counts on her to keep him in line if he ever goes too far, and that if he ever loses his way, he expects her to take him out, regardless of their personal or professional relationship.

Yes, thank you. The similar names got me mixed up.

Re: FMA, yes, I agree. Mustang seems very ambitious at times, but his connection with Hawkeye and the Ishbanl veterans does keep him grounded. They do serve as a check on him if he ever did go too far.

And yes, I did come to the conclusion that she had let him know her father's secrets pretty soon, since he did after all use very strong flame alchemy skills during the Isbalan war.

ETA: Never has this icon been more fitting :D...

Just wait until you have an Akari and and Akira, and Akira talks about Akari a lot.

Mustang also destroyed parts of the tattoo. I don't see him doing that if he hadn't learned all the secrets.

Ahh, you're almost caught up! How did you like Yukimura's conversation with Taihaku ("Know this ... I am always dreaming")? That's one of my favorite Yukimura scenes, as you probably guessed from the fact that it's the theme of my currently LJ layout!

Chinmei is horrible and scary. In my opinion, he's the second-most villainous bad guy in the series - and he looks so harmless the first time he shows up. That's also true of the most villainous bad guy, so keep that in mind!

Yes, Akira and Benitora both do so much growing in these volumes. And they still have more to go!

>> what is the secret of the Mibu and what is it with Kyo and Kyoshiro and the former Crimson King... <<

Bwa ha ha ha! Kamijyo really strings it out ... I don't think you really find out the whole truth of those two things until the very last volume. But amazing and horrifying and touching revelations will be starting pretty soon.

I didn't yet make it to the manga store after all, but I think I'll do that next week, since I really want to find out more :). I'm catching up pretty fast, since I usually tend to buy about 4-5 books of SDK at a time, since the actual story moves so slowly thanks to all the battles (which look pretty cool anyway, but do get a bit repetitive at times).

Yes, I really like it how much growing the characters do in this manga. On the surface it might look like it's only one fight after another, but these fights, their opponents and the things they fight for do make them consider the reasons behind and for fighting.

I did enjoy the Yukimura scenes a lot and I was really sorry to see Taihaku get killed, since he was such a great and noble character.
