Happy Birthday! Sorry I missed this yesterday - I was away from home all day and was straight to bed on return. Hope you had a wonderful day!

Love and blessings x

...got to point out something crucial here: the bit about 'to suffer' blahblah, above, comes from this lady looking it up in the Oxford English Dictionary (I just looked in my copy here at home), and the 'suffer' option TRACES DIRECTLY BACK TO ECCLESIASTICAL/CHRISTIAN CHURCH LANGUAGE, as they specify there in sketchy initials, and frigging IGNORES the other meaning listed, "AFFECTION"...to me, it's always been translated as "feeling", or even the other root 'passare' meaning 'movement', like 'pace' and 'passing lane', etc., and -ion always meant 'the action of'...so to me, with my belief in the wrathful aspect of things (not to be confused with rage or anger, but the action of *knowing that something is wrong and must be stopped*), it's 'the action of affection', *even if that affection is moving to stop harm using deadly force*...and it's agony to misunderstand it, and yet feel compelled to do it...hope this is interesting somehow...

Heh, well...yes, I agree with you. :-)

The context within which she wrote the above statement--I think it comes specifically from her being a writer of difficult, dark things. I can totally empathize with her in this regard...the words don't always flow, and when they do, it hurts to lay them down onto the "page", whether it be paper or a virtual medium. I've written things in a burst of fiery energy, but it shattered me to express them, it just plain devastated me. Nevertheless, it had to be done--so I did what needed to be done, and suffered the emotional and psychic consequences.

It's suffering for love, suffering for art, suffering for beauty or something true...at least, that's how I get her interpretation. When love is a seemingly mad, absurd struggle, but yet--you continue, bit by bit, breath by breath. Somehow, you keep going, despite everything.

Passion as patience and endurance. :-)

I hope you are well, my friend. I do think of you.

As always, till again.

hi Lester. =) Thank you for sharing these. I love them all, but the Caitlin R. Kiernan one really reasonates. I'm going to hang onto it, if that's okay.

*hugs*

you're post before this one (before the black flag videos), I agree with you 110%! Hang in there, my friend. You deserve a lot more in this world than, I'm sure, some people give you. I know I can definitely relate to that as well. <3.
