Regarding the annoying ground loop hum on the speakers throughout the two days, the advice I've been given is that a passive or active DI box should fix it easily; there's at least one place in town that does them, so if the next Vidukon is going to be Cardiff again, I'll look into getting one and testing it out. Hopefully, we will then be hum-free :)

Regarding transport to and from the city centre in Cardiff; I've been making use of the buses there more frequently, so if the next con is in Cardiff I'll arrange to get some maps and timetables put together showing where and when the handiest bus routes are.

I gather from the local press that the Dr. Who experience is back in Cardiff from summer this year; that might be a good idea for those who want an event on the Friday, and it's back in the Red Dragon mall just across from the hotel, according to the website: http://www.visitcardiff.com/things-to-do/doctor-who-

Oh, you are such a trooper for getting the ball rolling again on this, and doing such a comprehensive feedback summary. I totally agree that there are going to be a lot of postitive in staying at the same location, because it means you can build on experiences and relationships year by year. Geographically Cardiff is not my first choice, but the location was actually pretty much perfect, with lots of places to eat out, big bedroom for 4 people, close to the train station and the con rooms were just the right size for the event last time. Tech problems are likely to occure everywhere, and at least here we now know what the issues were and - see above - already have somebody working on a solution....;)

Yes, I do believe Cardiff is great a location and at least we know it already so that means we know what to expect for a number of things so that saves time and time is... not easy to find :)
Cardiff is not easy for me either but it works so I'm willing to go for it :) Really depends on who gets involved with the con, really :)

Are we thinking early April again? Or is there a possibility of pushing it either earlier or later? Just thinking ahead nervously about how it'll work with work...

oh we're not talking any date at the moment, as we're not even sure it'll happen again, but I guess generally speaking it would be in april but there's no definite, numerous factors are at play :)

I was quite enchanted with Cardiff, and would be very happy to have the con there again. As for volunteering--I could do a panel or a vidshow if needed, and if there's anything administrative that I can do from over here, let me know. :)

Also--hi!! *waves*

If it's in Cardiff, I'm happy to participate on the same level I did last year as a local gopher, and will email you shortly about that. If it's not in Cardiff, then I'm probably not going to be in a position to help organise it although I would still like to try to attend depending on where it will be! Exciting to see that the possibility is here, though. I have no additional comments on the above - I think it's all very well thought-out. The food wasn't jawdropping, but I didn't really have a problem with it either, so I'm of the opinion that if that's the chief issue, it's probably not worth shifting the whole event over, from my POV at least.

Thanks for your input and thanks for providing your help again.
Everything is up in the air at this point but I'd like to get a good idea of if the possibility of another con is real or not :)

No problem! Have sent an email and completely understand that it's important to just look at whether it's even feasible or not, but hey, *fingers crossed* :)

If it does end up happening again, and in Cardiff, I have every intention of blackmailing you into helping me poke sound systems and confuse hotel staff once more...
