LESSER QUALITY ICONS: - While the icon has a sensational crop & texture usage, the character feels a bit dark & it kind of takes from the icon. - The picture is too dark, you should have tried to balance the contrast more. The use of texture is awesome though. - This was a hard decision, but I chose this icon because of the way the sharpened image (a little too sharpened, in my opinion -- the edges of her hair and shadows on her shoulder look too pixelly) and the blurry light texture clash. I think the icon would have been improved by sharpening the light texture as well so that they work better together. FAVORITE ICONS: - I love your rotation of the image and crop. It, combined with the darkening of the eye creates a great seductive atmosphere.
Just to say I loved the icons you submitted here, they've always got something interesting in them.
Lesser Quality Icon: - The crop is awkward and grainy looking. The textures also seem odd/almost overpowering. Favorite Icon: - The idea of using this picture with a monochromatic background is wounderful. The greyscale is awesome as well as the texture use. Other comment: - It's a great choice to make this image black and white and positioned as you did. Really original.
Sorry but I have to drop out due to the fact that I'm currently moving & I have no clue when I'll have internet again D: & also my photoshop is acting up, so sorry for the inconvenience.
I so wish I could continue esp. when I was so close to finishing.
crap I would ask for my critiques but my library is blocking the images & I can't tell which ones mine D:
FAVORITE ICONS: - A very hard choice this week. Icon #1 eventually won favorite because of the fresh, original composition. The colors are also nice and mellow and go together nicely. Other comments: I love the perfect framing in this icon. Everything is so balanced.
I'm sorry you have to drop out. I hope you'll participate in a future round if you are able.
