Deadlines! I'd forgotten how useful deadlines are. Especially the kind of deadline that materializes when you say something like "I am up for critique this week? No, that's fine. I'll post my story for the group tomorrow

Well, I guess that just means our writing-brains continue to be in diametrically opposed proper working order.
(Although deadlines aren't foolproof for me, and they only work as well as this one did when they affect other people. Self-imposed deadlines are only useful for the proverbial whooshing noise they make as they go by.)
Deadlines mean I panic and freak out instead of accomplishing anything, so I think 2010 will be another great year of thinking about writing things for me!
