Quoting Vimeo support: 1. In the past, fallback options in the browser allowed some version of fullscreen to operate even when within frames. 2. Within the last few weeks, updates to major browsers removed these fallback options. This caused the fullscreen button to fail when clicked. Vimeo videos would no longer enter fullscreen if they were placed within frames. 3. Because the button wouldn’t work anyway, in the last few days our developers have now removed the fullscreen button from any players that are embedded within frames. To confirm, the button would have been broken even if displayed. So, whether the button was there or not, your viewers would not be able to enter fullscreen.
Thank you! Though I must say I don't get it. The embed code looks exactly like the one shown in the post up top and yet the button isn't there after posting.
I suspect problem is in that lj-embed id="xx" code that LJ adds to embeds, which probably works as the additional iframe. DW adds similar code, too. On Tumblr, that doesn't add anything to the embed code, Vimeo full screen mode works just fine.
In theory you should add another allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" there to fix the problem. But both LJ and DW don't allow to modify that part of the embed code, so I'm not sure if there is any solution at all.
