Stealing Your Own Stuff?

One thing I do constantly is go back after I've gotten good at something and re-work old projects to make them better. Haven't done it with vids yet because I'm still such a complete and total newbie, but I've done it for graphics, writing, etc

I've pondered doing it, but every vid represents a stage in my vidding development, and I'm reluctant to erase that just because I can do it better now. I might yet change my mind, though.

I deliberately deleted my source files and project VSP's so that I would be be able to resist the temptation to do just this. And I do, oh yes I do want to go back and fix some of the awful beats of my earlier vids, but I know the time-consuming insanity it would be, and it's best, for me, to have that temptation gone. I'd like to spend that time that could be forever fussing with old vids, and moving onto to other new projects, and not revisiting something I washed my hands of years ago. But that's a personal choice.

I recently remastered, or rather re-edited my very first vid. The only one I have done to date other than fixing hinky aspect ratios on one other.

I'd taken it down because it hurt me to watch it, but wanted to see if I could rescue the idea from the appalling editing(I knew nothing back then)I inlficted upon it. The new version is an improvement and I am pleased to have finished it. The process has kind of cured me from looking at a few other earlier vids that would also benefit. They are going have to stay as they are.

I someone wants to, it a perfectly fine thing to do, but like a lot of people here it seems, I kind of have to resist doing it. Because after a vid has been done for a while (and even sometimes when it's still pretty new) all I can see is the things I would do differently. Some of my early vids I could easily talk myself into redoing, but then how would I ever get anything new done?

it depends on if i have a reason to do it, and i see nothing wrong with remastering your videos unless you remaster it like a bazillion times.
